For our last hurrah this Summer of 2011, we had an unplanned overnight at Subic, courtesy of Dad. He had to work with a consultant based there and with extra accommodations, he told us to follow and stay overnight.
Trip only took 2 1/2 hours via SCTEX and we arrived just as the shops were opening at 9am. I’ve been to Subic Bay Freeport Zone before but this was the first time I’m spending the night. We usually visited for a day trip or pass by on the way to Olonggapo or Zambales.
View was great and RK Hotel was at the main road and we just had to walk to Royal Duty Free.
We checked into this awesome family room which could house about 7 people! I guess the specs were all American standards. Busy Boy was over the roof with seeing items sold in Dollar$. As in.
A quick dip in their 3ft pool. Most of the guests were out shopping so Busy Boy had the pool to himself.
Dinner time, we decided to go all out American and ate at..
Where waitresses were dressed as cowgirls and the fillet mignon was great! Those veggies on the side were as yummy!
My stomach couldn’t churn that much meat and Busy Boy ended up leaving almost an eighth of his order. Good thing I just ordered…
Pork quesadillas! Tastes as great but not as heavy on the stomach. :)
Busy Boy has a way of naming his new discoveries as ‘something unlocked’. Today was place unlocked and restaurant unlocked. It was very nice to discover this place through a child’s eyes. A child who’s sooooooooo excited to go and visit the States. Unfortunately with Dad working, we couldn’t wander around the other places like the beach and the viewing park. Maybe next time..
That’s as good as a family photo as I can get. Dad was too tired to pose
