Just before classes, I posted on going to Subic where we joined Dad while he was on official business.
This past long Father’s Day weekend, we made a return trip and with Dad on vacation, we had a chance to do something different, aside from walking through the outlet stores and duty free shops. Unfortunately, we were unaware of the current LPA and it rained almost the whole weekend.
The drive via SCTEX was a breeze and we arrived at the hotel by 930am. Lucky they allowed us to check in early. Just before it rained, Busy Boy tried the playground
Lunch at Meat Plus Cafe was 50-50. Food was delicious, especially for my carnivore-type boys. And the diners were packed like sardines. And with a lot of clients, service tended to be slow. From Subicboard: Meat Plus serves steaks in varying sizes or cuts such as porterhouse, t-bone, rib-eye and ground round. They also serve other dishes such as pizza, pasta and hot soups. Their bestseller is Black Angus Steak in rib-eye.

For some reason, the rains let up in the afternoon and we decided to see some of the publicized attractions. First up was Tree Top Adventure.
Dad was just frustrated here since Busy Boy didn’t want to even attempt in any of the 6 activities offered. Well, maybe when he’s bigger. Being a weekend, there were lots of people and cues were kinda long. We decided that we’ll go back next time and early. I’d like to try the Silver Surfer with my sister :) One tidbit about them, operations continue even when its raining.
Since that didn’t work out like Dad wanted, we transferred to Zoobic Safari. Which was basically a super enhanced trip around the zoo. We were blessed to have a respite from the rain and I was grateful for the chance to do this with my boys.
We paid the entrance with the tram ride and joined a group. Highlights of the tour was the close encounter with the tiger, where you ride this enclosed jeep and visit their cage (lower right photo above shows Busy Boy can’t stand the smell of tiger pee) and the crocodile lake visit.
We couldn't leave the place without a souvenir (yes, to the boys' chagrin)
One of the things we love doing is trying out new restaurants. As in we stay away from the fastfood joints and only go there on extreme emergencies. SFPZ has now sprouted with a lot of places to eat. After the super American Texas Joe last time, we went all Asian this time.
Cocoline was recommended by Dad’s office consultant Terry, who has been residing in Subic for a while. We surmised that if a Brit would find Asian food delicious, then this must be quiet a resto. Everything we ordered was indeed yummy. We were also advised that to go in early at 6pm. True enough as we were leaving, the place was already full. That's Tito J with us.
With a full stomach and the rains, there was nothing left to do but go back to our hotel. We had a hangup with the shower heater but we were all asleep by 10pm. All that walking did us in.
