Overstaying.. Unwanted

During the long weekend, we had visitors from down South and as usual, decided to make our home the ‘Manila Hotel’ complete with home service and driver when you want to go out.
Duh.
I am all for family visits but I guess this is a regional thing.  They really make long, drawn out visits that you eventually get weary of putting up a pasted smile and just get out of the way.   On top of that our food budget for 2 weeks get eaten in a few days, electricity and water consumption goes up..
I just want to conserve my energy for a busy month and avoid..
A friend of mine says, its part of the package that I got when I married.  But should it have to be such ugly contents inside?
I’m not saying I’m the perfect in-law.  In fact, I’m probably the least liked, most arte in-law they ever had.  But I’m not in this world for them.  For now, I am glad they need us more (well, Dad to be specific) but me,  I couldn’t care less.  And I shall only step in their territory if they will also give me the same treatment (good food, car, driver) they get from my family.
John Kennedy said ‘to whom much is give, much is expected’.  I understand and I try, but I need an outlet or I’ll burst.
And now just 2 more days.. We’re so behind Busy Boy’s studying and he is definitely getting an earful from me.  Then, I am so going on leave from work soon to get back some of my botched R&R.
