Rainy Mom's Day

I must admit today’s celebration of Mother’s Day was different.
First off, we had no elaborate lunch or dinner prepared, just your regular viand.
Second, unlike the past Mother’s Days where I am usually out of the country, I spent it here, at home.
Third, we have a storm. The second one to hit the Philippines for the year. The whole day was cool and the sun didn’t shine.  It rained torrents in the afternoon that Busy Boy’s basketball game was cancelled.  Coach Bimbo was calling for a default but we have to await the decision of the committee.
Fourth, its very rare that I get to spend an afternoon with my one and only cousin/goddaughter, Leni, who joined us for today’s game to video A.  Its been a while since we last talked and I just can’t help marvel how far this (not so) little baby - who caused me endless painful arms when I carried her - has grown.  She is now officially grown up.  She even knows how to put on make up better than me! :)  I’m glad we spent an unusual afternoon together and I have the honor of making her walk through flooded waters for the first time…  Sorry for that, Leni, I should’ve brought the car, but who thought it would rain that hard?
I guess, a simple feast of pancakes, ruffles potato chips, mug rootbear and lumpiang shanghai is great when the company you have is as great. Let’s do more of these and let’s make that FB date soon? :)
Happy Mom’s Day to all my mommy and soon-to-be mom friends! :)

UPDATE  21 May 2011

Here's what my boy's got me as a belated gift.  The ref could only accommodate 3 pitchers on the side and due to the heat we’ve experience, we’re chugging water the whole day.  Took a while but I’m glad we found exactly what I wanted, Lock&Lock Up and Down Pitcher!  They can hold up to 1.9L each, perfect for what we need at home.
