Evening with my Cousins

Its been ages since I’ve been out after work without my boys.
Last Friday night, November 25, I must say, it was refreshing break to have this meeting/dinner with my sister and my cousins to discuss about our family’s reunion in December at our parents’ province. Busy Boy was with me until about 9pm and Dad picked him up as he was so obviously ‘bored to death’  while I was ‘just talking and talking’.
I let my younger relations choose the place to eat. Its been 18 years since I left college and Katipunan Ave. is now a stranger me.   First up, was dinner at Xocolat.
Obviously still a house when I left school, this cafe doesn’t look like a restaurant inside but cozy and homey enough that we stayed there for a good 4 hours! Busy Boy loved the pork belly and I the pasta and the cakes were yummy.
That was our exact table - I remember the homemade looking chairs.  I loved the hot and crispy churos that we ordered as appetizers.  Maybe I’ll ask my sister to take out next time. Though its best eaten while still hot.
My younger cousin Leni, had a craving for milk tea and we wanted to introduce it Kikaygeekgoddess hence, the transfer to Maginhawa St. ensued. We wrapped up our meeting and moved out.
Admittedly, I am a Serenitea loyalist but, no harm in trying out the competition.
This was another homey place we visited which got my entrepreneur cousin thinking..  Pictures from JonverDavid..
I’m thinking all interiors of all branches are alike? This was where we sat too..
The teadrink didn’t score as high for me as my sister and cousin does.. But I did like it well enough to take-out 2 drinks for the following day. Plus, good company is always better than any meal for me so..
We stayed for about another hour at the least talking about anything and everything.  But we were all Cinderellas that evening (hubby and son were at home already) and I’m no longer used to being out at this hour.
Shall we meet out again, ladies? :)
