No, I wish it was me.. but it isn’t.
I was caught unaware when a friend, colleague and teammate of mine for 13 years suddenly submitted her resignation letter, effective yesterday. Yes, we had been talking about it thru the years, more often this year but I never it saw it coming. I was teary eyed a few minutes I was informed.

AMB and I have totally different backgrounds growing up. I was your private school ‘inglisera’ girl while she was your down-to-earth, street smart lass. I was the eldest of 2, she’s the youngest of 5. Then, I was an Account Officer already and she was a Loans Assistant, the first time we met in 1997. So when she became assigned to me in 2001, all I knew about her was she nice, ready to learn and a hard worker.
Fastforward 11 years, we’ve been thru a lot of site visits, accounts, document signings, running after a quota, developer events… and she has blossomed into a shy assistant to a very confident Sr. Assistant Manager. Our Developer counterparts like her and she’s like my right hand. I was confident to go on leaves because she’d take charge.
I’m sad to see her go.. On the other hand, I am happy that she will have this chance to be there for her son and husband. I hope she will find the right activity/business to fill this huge gap that resigning from work will do. And I pray that it is for the right motivation that she is giving up her career for.
One thing I will be forever grateful from AMB is is learning to be money-wise. This girl can compute a cost and expense in seconds! And you wouldn’t believe how many time deposits she has. Because of her, I now have 3 of my own.
Thank you for the friendship and trust. Thank you for the commitment, team spirit and hardwork. Wishing you all the best — I pray you finally learn how to drive and get that baby sister. Most of all, let’s not be strangers, AMB.
