A fully paid home.
For the longest time, all we had was our home. No cars, no gadgets, no branded clothes. It was mortgaged by my parents for a mere P34,000. I couldn’t image how much that amount meant in the ’70s.
I am thankful for the circumstances that allowed us to renovate our house to what it is now. Thankful that Papa got to stay in a better home during his last 2 years. I am even more grateful that my mom has decided to help us with the bank loan. After 6 years last June 2011, mortgage is cleared!
Is having your own that important? To me it is. Sure, renting is easier, but its never ending and paying rent is like dropping money in an openbottomed piggy bank.
I wanted a home that is ours and a home you can pass on to your children. Much like what my parents did for my sister and me. How does ‘been living here for the past 35 years’ sound?
Well, we’re sure Busy Boy has a place to stay when we’re no longer around. :)
