E-Passports on Hand

We finally said goodbye to our green-issued passports.  A year before its expiry, the family and I went to DFA very early this morning.
I’m so glad that Auntie was able to schedule us on a weekend and avoided unnecessary absents for Busy Boy. Also, a Saturday appointment meant automatic Rush processing and relatively fewer people (1,000 appointments vs 3,000 during the week).
Getting the new E-passport was a far cry from the very first time Dad and I got ours in 1998.  No more falling in line under the sun, no more bringing of pictures. Now everything is in an air conditioned and new DFA building with stricter rules and a more fast paced process.  As it says in their poster, its a good 27 minutes - sans the waiting to get passport-ed.
Since we’re going with a child, we had to eat our breakfast early and left home early.  We also chose the earliest appointment so we could be let in at once and not wait outside the building. We were done in a hour but we still brought a book and gadgets to keep my boys entertained.
We don’t have time for a personal pick up, we all had to pay P120 each for delivering 5 passports to one address.
I prefer this E-passport over the also recent Machine Readable Passport (MRP) because your signature is already in front. Another difference is the logo in front.  Good thing really comes to those who wait.
A Passport is one of the major IDs you can present to verify you as you :).  Just store it in a safe place with all the chip and antenna inside.
Still with the green passport or still don’t have one?  Visit DFA Passport Appointment  and follow all instructions.  Very easy!
Now we’re all set to go..money na lang hehe :)
