Wake Up Call

This will be me...soon
We received bad news of my Uncle suffering a stroke. He's now in the ICU and is under observation.  My uncle is already in his 60s but due to financial constraints, he has been amiss with check ups so with this, we were greeted with a whole barrage of  illness and effects of illness.  I pray my Uncle will get better soon.

For the longest time I've been trying to lose weight. I've tried and miserably failed at dieting, I have no time to work out, eating is my way out of stress.  This reality check has really jolted me to my bones.  My son is only 7 years old we still have a long way to go.  My work clothes have become a little snug and buying new ones is NOT the solution.

I really have to foot my down on this.  I'm nearing the age when most ailments would start popping out and I don't want that.  I've got to get around to start eating less and moving more.  I'll work out a plan and hopefully lay it all out within 2 weeks.  Any suggestions?

More than becoming thinner, I just want to be healthier for me and my family.  Its hard but I have to do this.  Wish me luck?

Nice to be here, sis. Ganda! So sorry to hear about the condition of your uncle. But glad to ehar about your desire to lose weight. We're on the same boat. Actually, I gained 5kls when I got preggy with my bunso. After I gave birth, I could no longer go back to my usual jogging due to my surgery. I tried to do it gradually but my body resists it. "My spirit is willing but my flesh is weak," hahaha! So I just walk to my office and back home which is a big help although not as effective as jogging in terms of losing weight.
Two weeks ago, while training my debaters for a national tournament, circumstances gave me an opportunity to naturally lose almost 2kls in a week. I skipped my usual dinner by just eating fruits because I hate to go out far just to eat with my debaters. Then I had to eat cereals (not sweetened)or whole wheat bread with soyamilk or drinking yoghurt at breakfast like they did. When I got back home after a week I went to the weighing scale because everyone would see me would tell me I'm slimmer. Eureka! Thanks for the natural solution.
With our age, sis, our metabolism slows down so we need to watch out our food intake, first of all. Exercising such as walking at least 30 minutes a day is also advised by my doctor.
Yes, we can do it together!

Hi sis! We finally get to chat again. Oh how I wish I could wish 2 kilos like you. I think rice is a major culprit especially at night and unfortunately, its when I eat most bec I'm so tired. I tried cereals before but I ran out and I eventually went back to rice for dinner and bkfast.

Yes, now that I have a buddy, we can do it.

was bloghopping here then I saw this post.
for the longest time, i have been trying to lose all the weight i gained since i gave birth to my 2nd baby. right now im 20lbs heavier than when i was single :(
lately, ive been running again and although i want to go back to the gym it's just so hard to squeeze in a mom's schedule. im also trying to skip rice or the whole dinner if my willpower cooperates. its really very hard at first but eventually (i guess your stomach will adapt/resize) i no longer feel hungry even without dinner. plus i am able to sleep better because im not so full. i hope that you will be able to find a diet regimen that will work best for you. a fiend of mine lost 4 lbs in two weeks with Herbalife.
