Visit to the Water SPA

from  http://blssace2.blogspot.com
I've heard and read about Ace Water Spa for years and it only took me today to finally visit the fairly new Pasig branch.  What a great way to end a day that started with a Security seminar at work.  I invited Mama to join me and Busy Boy, while we waited for Dad, who also has a Saturday seminar to bring a foreigner colleague.

Lockers from Kyutee
Busy Boy with Dad was able to try the facilities last week as they waited for me to finish my friend's baby shower.  So he was our guiding force as we navigated our way through the massage pools.  Though we did waste around 30 minutes at the start due to a misunderstanding, I was waiting for Busy Boy at the exit (sheesh) while he was waiting to go to the spa already (different exit)! My name had to be called as children below 12 were not allowed to go to the main pool by themselves.  After that, all was well, as you are allowed a maximum 4 hours to stay! :)

After negotiating a meeting place within the spa area, I let Busy Boy roam around and try his favorites, while I occasionally joined Mama for a chat.  Otherwise, I just let the 25 hydro massage areas do the work for me. It was a real treat to have the water slough away at those tired muscles.  I enjoyed the massages concentrating on the back area the most since, that's where I usually have a problem.  We also had fun in the lazy river ride where my son so gentlemanly helped me to get on the floating device...hehe. Its about a 10 minute ride around the spa area.

Mama and I tried the lowest of the heated herbal pools and just splashed water from the cold pool. Couldn't take it.  Later, we learned that you're supposed to move from one heated to pool to another, working your way from the the coolest (at 32 deg) to the warmest (40 deg).  Anyway, next time.

With our fingers and toes wrinkly, I realized getting a massage can also be tiring.  Dad and his Brit visitor came during our 2nd hour and it was getting past dinner time.  We decided to eat at their dining area, Ace Coffee Lounge. Surprisingly they had a lot of food to offer.. Japanese, Chinese,Korean, Filipino food, carving and pasta stations and of course, dessert!   I liked the Potato Au Gratin best!  It became my rice staple as I sampled the other viands.

We decided that we will come back as a family around Auntie's birthday next month.  And maybe go there early so we can enjoy the lunch buffet better. Will also try to get a photo next time.

A few reminders..
  1. Wear spandex swimwear.  The water pressure can be strong and you wouldn't want your top or shorts ballooning and bursting, would you?
  2. Cameras not allowed in the wet area.  Sorry, Auntie.. no photos by the pool.
  3. Your slippers will be checked in, only their blue slippers are allowed inside the locker room. You get yours back when you exit and return your key.
  4. Swimming caps are required. There's a standard red cap included as you enter the locker area or you can bring  your own.
  5. You can bring your towels to the spa area where there is an open locker space.
  6. Available amenities in the shower like plastic bags, liquid soap and shampoo.

Until the next visit!! :)
